The job will require substantial work to be done on locations in eastern Colorado.
$50,000 Annually.

Reports to: Karval Community Alliance Directors and the Regional Partnership Directors


Purpose: To facilitate the formation of the Eastern Grassland Coalition CPW Regional Partnership

About the Organization: The Karval Community Alliance is a 501-c(3) non-profit headquartered in Karval, Colorado. It is sponsoring the formation of a CPW Regional Partnership in several counties in eastern Colorado. The counties may include: Elbert, Lincoln, Washington, Kit Carson, Kiowa, Cheyenne, and Yuma. The Eastern Grassland Coalition is being formed to promote recreation and conservation in the above counties.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communication with the principal partners.
- Recruitment of stakeholders.
- Contribution of content to the coalition website
- Attending organizational meetings
- Some travel required.
- Other duties as assigned.

The Eastern Grasslands Coalition Regional Partnership only has funding through the end of 2024. The ability of the organization to receive future funding is dependent on the staff’s ability to successfully build out the organization and apply for additional grants.

The Regional Partnership Coordinator position does not offer any benefits.

The applicant may need to provide their own transportations to meetings in eastern Colorado.

The Coordinator will be provided with a computer and printer for use during their tenure.

When the job is vacated the computer and printer must be returned.

The Eastern Grasslands Coalition Mission
The organization is just forming. One of the initial goals will be to define the mission. However, central to the mission will be promoting conservation and recreation in eastern Colorado, particularly in the counties of Cheyenne, Elbert, Kiowa, Kit Carson, Lincoln, Washington, and Yuma.

Description of Job
The Coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining information systems necessary for the members of the coalition to be effective in their roles.

The Coordinator arranges meetings, establishes a process to keep the official Coalition meeting records (record meetings, take notes, establish official minutes, respond to Open Records requests, etc.).

Tracks and delegates requests from the Coalition members and other constituents.

Manages communication sent to Coalition (route to Committee, or other parties as appropriate for response, maintain records of correspondence, ensure concerns are addressed appropriately) and advise Coalition of issues and concerns, activities and meetings that need to be brought to their immediate attention.

Assists in developing and coordinating orientation for new Coalition members, as well as instructions to new Coalition members on operational processes and travel reimbursements.

Coordinate meetings, manage the process for establishing final agendas, working with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate specific agenda timing, and communicating and ensuring public awareness of agenda/meeting information in accordance with the Colorado Open Meetings Law, including all associated critical documentation.

Manages process for the addition of public presentations and requests to agenda. Determines venue for meetings, negotiates and contracts for set up with hotel/meeting site for food, equipment (e.g., microphones, recording equipment, etc.). Establishes the Coalition’s calendar of public meetings.

Helps with meeting technology through Zoom and Google Meet.

Responsible for ensuring all Coalition equipment and materials get to the meeting.

Responsible for posting public notices of Coalition meetings, etc. Monitors the Coalition’s web presence to keep the public informed pursuant to all Open Meetings requirements.

Communicates with the public, including preparing and distributing press releases.

Recruit stakeholders.
 
Assist and train stakeholders as needed on Adobe, Microsoft, Google products.

Work with all advanced Word and Google features and convert documents from one format to another as needed.

Create PowerPoint presentations as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions; Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications
Four (4) years of relevant experience in program support, office administration, work within an occupation related to the work assigned to this position
- OR -
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to four (4) years

Substitutions

- Appropriate education in Business Administration or other field of study related to the duties of this position may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience working with government agencies on grant and/or administrative programs
- High level of written and oral communications
- State parks or other outdoor recreation experience
- Experience in public education, communication, or customer service.

- Good working knowledge of computer based technology
- Enjoys learning and implementing new technologies

- Strong interpersonal skills

Conditions of Employment
- Must possess and maintain a valid state of Colorado driver's license if operating a vehicle as part of the job.

- Must be able to travel to support Coalition meetings in eastern Colorado as needed.

Employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must disclose the information and provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify their application from the current position
